Weblog Sebastian Schäfer
From 1995 to 1999 Sebastian Schäfer studied Informatics at the Universität der Bundeswehr. After graduating he was employed as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Applied Systems Science and Operations Research, where he held courses in Statistics and Systems Science. In October 2003 he gained his doctorate under the supervision of Prof. Reiner K. Huber with a thesis on analytic methods for stochastic models.
From 2004 to 2006 Sebastian Schäfer was employed at the Center for Further Development of the Airforce (Zentrum für Weiterentwicklung der Luftwaffe) in Cologne. His work at the Department for Conceptional Objectives focussed on Network Centric Warfare (NetOpFü) and on Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E). Concerning these topics he compiled numerous lectures and publications. In addition he actively participated in a work group on knowledge management at the Universität der Bundeswehr. There he contibuted significantly to the development of a concept to introduce a Wiki-Service at the Bundeswehr.
Subsequent to his officer career Sebastian Schäfer completed the International Management Programm in Australia where he also worked e.g. at an internet company in the field of Enterprise Architecture.
Since december 2007 Sebastian Schäfer supports the Cooperation Systems Center Munich (CSCM) as a freelancing scientific assistant. His research focusses on the evaluation of concrete Social Software solutions and the associated introduction pocesses in companies.
